Youngstown- Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church for John Kovach who died Friday at Omni Manor nursing home. John was born June 9, 1922 in Youngstown the son of Stephen and Maria (Dovica) Kovach. Mr. Kovach served in the United States Air Force serving in the China Burma Theatre. He was employed by Calvary Cemetery, U.S. Steel Corporation, Aeroquip Republic Rubber Corporation and Austintown Local Schools. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Kovach leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Mildred (Antal); son Ronald and daughter in-law, Elizabeth (Beth Martinko) of Boardman, daughter Janice of Austintown; three sisters, Margaret (Julie) Hruska of Youngstown, Pauline Farmer of Boardman, Helen (Sally) Chermely and brother in-law Stanley of Canfield, sister in-law Flora Kovac of Canfield, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Mary Dezort, Susan Marvich, Mildred and a brother Steve Kovac. Family and friends may call from 4-8 pm Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and from 12 -1 pm Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church prior to services. Interment will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery. Monetary donations can be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the donors favorite charity
