Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Faith Baptist Church for John Pazel, Sr. of 4520 Vienna Ave., Youngstown who died Wednesday morning at North Side Medical Center. John was born Aug. 21, 1918 in Youngstown, OH a son of Frank and Elizabeth Pazel. He was a millwright and foreman at U. S. Steel retiring 1974 after 39 years. He was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board. He was a graduate of North Lima High School. He served in the Army during World War II receiving the Purple Heart and enjoyed working in his yard and doing woodworking. John is survived by his wife Vera Mae Harrold Pazel whom he married 12/7/38; three children Darryl Pazel of Los Angeles, CA, Ms. Teresa Nichols of Simi Valley, CA, and John Pazel, Jr. of Liberty, OH; three sisters Mary Sipos, Millie Emmerich, and Frances Del-Rae all of Youngstown, Julia Cook of Leavittsburg, and Pat Kitchen of Girard; a brother George Pazel of Akron; two grandchildren Joseph Nichols and Michelle Benson; and a great grandchild Jessica Marie Benson. A brother Steve Pazel precedes him in death Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel. The family request tributes to Multiple Sclerosis.
