John Siwinski

John Siwinski, age 85 of Cortland, passed away on February 29, 2020 at Hospice House in Poland. John was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 2, 1934 to Steven & Mary Siwinski.

On October 22, 1960, John was united in marriage to the former Ada DeClet who preceded him in death on March 11, 2019.

John spent his career as a civil engineer retiring from Diamond Steel Construction Company.
He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church, and a longtime member of the Navy League of Vieques, Puerto Rico.

John is survived by his daughters Suzette Drawl, Sharon Siwinski and Christie (Kevin) Krolkosky, his grandson Adam (Jyldyz Dzhumabekova) Drawl and many other family and friend. Besides his wife of 58 years, John was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. John was the last Siwinski of his generation.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Rebecca, John’s Hospice nurse and Doug Ryan, John’s caregiver, for their invaluable help, support and care of John.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. St. Robert’s Catholic Church.
