AUSTINTOWN- Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday at the American Hungarian Reformed Church for Joseph Chepke of Austintown who died Tuesday evening at his residence. Joe was born the son of the late Balasz and Vera (Kerekes) Chepke on March 21, 1931 in Youngstown. Joe was an owner-operator of Utility Contracting Company and retired in 1998 from the Operating engineers local 66 in Youngstown. Joe graduated from North Jackson high School, he was a 40 year member of The Austintown Touchdown Club, a charter member of the Royal Order of the Pine, the American Hungarian Reformed Church, a past member of the Austintown Optimist Club and he was inducted into the Austintown Community Hall of Fame. Joe is survived by his wife Cecilia(Cookie) (Ricci) who he married on June 30, 1956, a daughter Randi Jo (Cody) Skinner of Hudson, Ohio and 2 sons Joseph E. (Alaina) Chepke and Marty Chepke of Austintown. He also leaves 2 sisters Erma Batta and Margie Iagulli both of Austintown and 3 brothers George Chepke of Lake Milton, Gene Chepke of Canfield and Tom Chepke of North Carolina. Joseph is also survived by 4 grandsons Justin, Bobby, Joey III and Jack Robert Chepke and 5 grand daughters Molly Jo, Hannah, and Carlie Chepke along with Chloe Jo and Riley Skinner. He is preceded in death by his son Robert D. Chepke and 5 brothers Charles, John, William, Frank and Martin Chepke Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel on Friday from 4 – 8 PM. The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
