Joseph J. Borrelli, 82, of Warren passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 4:33 AM Friday Aug. 7, 2015 at Washington Square Healthcare following a short illness. He was born April 22, 1933 in Glassport, PA the son of the late John and Carmella (Chavarini) Borrelli. Joe came to the Warren area at the age of 8 and was a June 1951 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He proudly served in the US Air Force on active duty from 1953-1957 and in the Reserves until 1961. Joe and his family lived in Niles from 1971 until returning to Warren in 2000. He worked in the melt shop at Copperweld Steel for 36 years retiring in 1987. Joe was a long-time member of the Warren YMCA where he enjoyed playing racquetball and he loved listening to music. He was of the Catholic faith. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Long) Borrelli whom he married May 19, 1962, a son John of Palm Springs, CA, a daughter Joan Louise (James) Necastro of Irmo, SC, a grandson Neal Necastro and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Caroline Ronghi and Josephine who died as a child. There will be a memorial mass at 10:00 AM Monday Aug. 10, 2015 at St. Mary's church of Warren. The Rev. Bernard Schmalzried will officiate. Cremation will follow and his ashes will be entombed at Pineview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
