Joseph "Joe" M. Sanders

Joseph “Joe” M. Sanders, AKA; Ed Norton, of Austintown, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at his residence.
Born December 24, 1959 in Youngstown, Joe was the son of Francis and Mary Nancy (Canale) Sanders.
Joe was a varsity fullback, wrestler, pole vaulter and 1978 graduate of Jackson Milton High School. He was also a graduate of the Mahoning County Joint Vocational school where he studied auto mechanics. Following graduation Joe enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Upon his return home from serving his country, he attended classes at Youngstown State University and was employed at General Motors in Lordstown. He had a deep passion for fast American cars and vintage motorcycles and stayed involved with both throughout his life.
Joe was a lifelong student of the guitar which he often used to entertain Family and friends.
Joe leaves to cherish his memories his four siblings, Mary Rose (Carlton) Lawrence, Paul Sanders, Frank (Desiree’) Sanders and Salvatore “Sal” (Mary Ann) Sanders.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31 at 11:00am at First Federated Church, 10786 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. Provided the weather is appropriate, the service will be held outdoors in the pavilion and those in attendance are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. COVID protocols will be upheld to include social distancing and wearing masks. If the weather does not permit the use of the pavilion, those in attendance are asked to remain in their vehicle for the service.
