Services will be at 11 AM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Joseph M. Beatty who passed away peacefully Thursday morning after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Joe was born March 16, 1943 in Waynesburg, PA., the son of Melvin and Della (Hughes) Beatty. He retired in July of 2004 from General Motors Lordstown as a Paint Engineer after 38 years of service. He was a member of American Bikers Aimed Towards Education (ABATE), The Moose Lodge of Niles, and Masonic Lodge #655, and was a 32nd degree Mason. Joe’s hobbies included motorcycle riding, competing in motorcycle races, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, and also enjoyed boating and auto body. Most importantly Joe loved the time he spent with his family, the time spent with his grandchildren especially brought him lots of joy. Joe leaves to cherish his memory, his wife the former Ruth Ann Yonut, whom he married April 10, 1975, and their children: Lori (Paul) Minton of Lordstown, Joseph Erik (Tiffaney) Beatty of Twinsburg, Rob (Lori) Beatty of White Lake MI, Jeff (Betsy) Beatty of Newton Falls, and Michelle (Ed) Moon of Orlando FL. He also leaves one brother: Eddie (Marietta) Beatty of Newton Falls, as well as 12 grandchildren: Hilary Minton, Brittney, Marissa, and Ireland Beatty, Jeff, Alissa, and Emily Burdess, Chelsea and Jeffery Beatty, Calvin, Nathan, and Sammy Moon. Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 PM today and again from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
