Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30th at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canfield for Joseph W. Manley of Raccoon Rd. in Canfield who passed away on Saturday evening at South Side Specialty Hospital in Youngstown. Mr. Manley was born November 29, 1920 in Youngstown the son of Michael A. and Caroline E. (Beil) Manley Sr. A 1939 graduate of South High School, Joseph served in the Army in the Pacific Theatre during WWII and was a Machinist at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. for 35 years retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Canfield and a member of V.F.W. Post 3538 in Struthers. He leaves three sons: Richard M. and Raymond A. Manley both of Canfield, and Joseph W. Manley Jr. He also leaves two sisters: Mrs. Ellen Jones of Struthers and Mrs. Dorothy Pawlik of Austintown. Also surviving are seven grandchildren. His wife Bertha A. (Harsanye) Manley whom he married March 22, 1943 passed away on July 25, 1991. Joseph was also predeceased by 3 sisters: Mary Rita Skill, Catherine Esposito, and Jean Marshall, as well as a brother Michael A. Manley Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mahoning Valley Chapter of the American Heart Association. Friends and family may call at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield chapel on Tuesday, January 29th from 6-8 PM.
