Joyce E. Shilling, age 89, of McDonald, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018. Born December 24, 1928 in McDonald; she was the daughter of Howard J. and Josephine E. (Wiggett) Coles. Joyce attended Evansville Baptist Church and was a former member of McDonald Baptist Church. She loved antiques, especially jewelry; she also loved to travel with her husband and spend time with her family and friends. She had a deep abiding faith and love for Jesus. Survivors include her children: Thomas (Gerda) Shilling, Paul Shilling, and Brenda (Dave) Noel; grandchildren: Jonathan (Sandy) Noel, Lisa (Aaron) Fockler, Tommie, Jason (BJ), and Justin (Brook) Shilling; great-grandchildren: Raegan, Corbin, Isabella, Gabe, Taylor, Domenic, and Sophia; a sister Donna Hodgkinson, and brothers Maynard and Richard Coles. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Warren Shilling, a brother Clarence Coles, and daughter-in-law Debra. Friends will be received at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel on Thursday from 4-7PM; where services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:30AM with Chaplain Neil Appell officiating. Burial will take place at the Liberty Union Cemetery in Girard. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents of Humility House, as well as to those who came to visit Joyce during her time there, those visits meant so much to her.
