Joyce Ann Jamison

Joyce Ann Jamison (Skeens) passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, in North Jackson, Ohio, at the age of 77. She was born on September 15, 1946, in Wadsworth, Ohio and moved to North Jackson in 1967 after her husband started his career at General Motors.

Joyce worked as an insurance agent at Lester Handwork Insurance Company and Lone Pine Insurance Agency for her whole career. She was involved in various organizations, which included Eastern Star, OCCL, Grotto, High Twelve, Red Hat Society, and the North Jackson Citizen’s Association.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and daughter. She lived each day to the fullest, enjoying hobbies such as making jewelry, gardening, playing cards, and dancing. She was a Deaconess at Lordstown Christian Church and a Master Gardener.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Sterling Jamison, whom she married on June 5^th, 1964. Additionally, she is survived by her children, Mark Jamison (Debra), Matthew Jamison (Susan), Jonathan Jamison (Cherilyn), her grandchildren, Benjamin (Gabrielle), Allyson (James), Spiro, Niko, Lily, Adrianna, Joseph, Daniel and Kaitlyn and her great-grandchildren, Remington and Rueger. Joyce is also survived by her siblings Kenneth Skeens (Gail) and Paula Probst (Mick). She will be missed by many close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alpha Skeens (Pauline), her sister Darlene Skeens and her father and mother-in-law, Dencil (Beulah) Jamison.

Calling hours will be held at Lane Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave. Austintown, Ohio on Thursday, March 14, from 5-7pm. The funeral service will take place at the same location on Friday, March 15, from 10-11am with interment to follow directly after at North Jackson Cemetery on SR 45 in Jackson Twp.
