Judith C. Sjostrom

September 23, 1946 — December 17, 2024

Cortland

CORTLAND - On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Judith C Sjostrom, 78, earned her iridescent wings and began her new journey surrounded by all the pink hearts and white light she ever sent out to others.

She entered this world on September 23, 1946, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Some may have even said older and wiser beyond her years.

Judy married her high school sweetheart, Duane M Sjostrom, not once... but twice in the same year, which was 1965. Who would have thought it would last 59 years! Together they welcomed into the world 3 beautiful, amazing daughters, Stacie (Brian) Sims of Arizona, Kimberly Sjostrom of Arizona, and Laura Baker of Ohio. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, floating around the pool with a Vodka Slush in her hand and gallivanting around with her friends.

Once her children left the nest, she began her adventures as a grandmother and thoroughly enjoyed completely spoiling her grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Scott (Heather) Halavick; Breanna (Justin) Bethel; Gage Hannah; Cody Hannah, and Karlynn Baker. During this time she acquired new skills such as farming (on Farmville), embezzlement (hiding money from her husband to send to the grandkids), teaching everyone how to be more self sufficient (especially during the hours of "Bold and The Beautiful", "Young and The Restless" and "Days of Our Lives") during which she ignored the outside world and would actually turn the television up if she heard you talking.

As the grandchildren got older and her children were pretty much ignored by now, she spent more time with Sam and Dean Winchester; Edward and Bella Cullen, and Dexter Morgan. She also became a great-grandmother of four, soon to be five, great-grandchildren.

She will forever be in our hearts and thoughts telling us things over and over and over again because she won't remember who she told what to! Guiding us as only she could by nudging us to try new things and truly enjoying every day to the fullest.

The family is honoring her wishes with no calling hours or service. We all do not want to incur the wrath of Judy and be haunted for the remainder of our lives (she watched Dark Shadows so she knows how to do it)! If you wish to say goodbye, just tell her. She will hear you.
