Katherine Lois Goehring Timlin, 85 of Youngstown, died Wednesday evening, August 7, 2024 at Hospice House of Poland. Katherine, known as “Kathie” was born August 2, 1939 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late George Eli and Viola May (Flower) Goehring and was a lifelong area resident.
She graduated from Boardman High School in 1957 and had worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital for 48 years as a secretary in pharmacy for 43 years and the last five years as a secretary in nursing.
Kathie loved sports. She was a fan of all of the Canfield High School sports and was always cheering for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards.
Her husband of 47 years, Thomas E. Timlin, Sr., whom she married July 3, 1971, died in April 2019. She leaves her son, Thomas E. Timlin, II of Canfield; four sisters, Mary Louise Higgins of New Middletown, Nora Lee (William) Klase of Youngstown, Naomi (Harry) Karlen of Salem, Elva Evans of Liberty; three brothers, Harry (Carol) Goehring of Mt. Joy, PA, Larry (Sarah) Goehring of Columbiana, Kenneth (Vickie) Goehring of Canfield; a sister-in-law, Mary Goehring and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Kathie was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tamara Timlin; four brothers, Gerald Goehring, Paul Goehring, Glen Goehring, Dale Goehring and two brothers-in-law, James Higgins and John “Jack” Evans.
Per Kathie’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.
