Katherine Teresa (Lavery) Palmer, 87, formerly of Rogers Avenue in Warren, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 15, 2009 at 3:02PM in the Windsor House in Champion from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Born Dec. 29, 1921 in Butler, PA She was the daughter of the Charles and Mary (Bittsch) Lavery. A 1940 graduate of Penn Twp High School, Katherine played on the State Championship basketball team. She was an avid sports fan especially of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. She worked for Howard's Photo Service and retired in 1983 from Venture Plastics where she worked as a press operator for 20 years. Katherine enjoyed walking, playing bingo, cooking and baking, and traveling especially taking trips to casinos. In her younger years she loved music and dancing. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren. She was preceded in death in 1986 by her husband Robert A. "Booby" Palmer whom she married March 9, 1941. Katherine is survived by two sons, Robert C. Palmer of Brookfield, and Thomas D. (Sandra) Palmer of Warren, eight grandchildren, Leslie, Krista, Lisa, Dawn, Chance, Brian, Jesse, and Benjamin, four great grandchildren, Elisia, Brandon, Bailey, and Hannah and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son William Palmer, four brothers Joseph, George, Frank, and Robert Lavery, and two sisters Dorothy Lavery and Lillian Rundeo The Rev. Rusty Cowden will conduct a funeral service Thursday, July 30, 2009 12:30PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where family and friends may visit from 11AM to 12:30PM. Burial will be held in the Meadowbrook Memorial Park.
