On March 17, 2013 Keith A. Smith passed away peacefully at his home. Keith was born August 13, 1943 in Youngstown, a son of the late Roy W. and Juna Mae (Shallenberger) Smith. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters: Penny, Peggy, Iris, and Joann, and a brother Richard. Keith leaves to mourn his passing his wife, the former Barbara Veauthier, whom he married August 1, 1964 at St. Patrick's Church; two sons: Keith E. (Janet) Smith and Kevin M. (Sandy) Smith both of Austintown; four grandchildren: Brandie, Haley, Keith, and Matthew and one great granddaughter Mackenzie. Keith worked at Copperweld Steel in Plant Protection for many years and was active in the United Plant Guard Workers of America Local 64 serving as President, Treasurer and Secretary. He was very involved in College Park Youth Baseball, and enjoyed baking Christmas cookies with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Keith was a long suffering Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan and a huge NASCAR fan having owned That's Racing Collectable Shop for nearly 10 years. Calling hours will be held Tuesday March 19, 2013 from 5 pm until 7 pm at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel, where a memorial service will be held at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512 in Keith's name.
