Keith L. Book

GREENFORD-Heaven gained a very special angel on October 25, 2022. Keith L. Book passed away unexpectedly at home at the age of 63 with his wife by his side. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Terri Book; his mother-in-law, Ellamae Carrera, his siblings, John “Buddy” Book (Kim); Cheryl Book Anstead (John); Cindy Book (Marty Baringer); Tony Behnke (Mary Ann); Alva Book (Gavin Pamer); daughter, Jessica Book Barber (Dale); son, Stephen Keith Book (Stacey); and his beautiful grandchildren Rosa York, Abby Book, Nicky, Johnny, and Sammy Barber; and his faithful companion “Max”. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Seaman Behnke; step-father, Theodore “Ted” Behnke; father, John Perry Book; step-mother, Nancy Book and father-in-law, Anthony J. Carrera. Keith was born November 6,1958 in Youngstown Ohio. He lived in North Jackson growing up, attended Jackson Milton Schools, and earned his GED. He returned to the adult education classes at the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center to earn his certificate in Machine Trades. After working at a few local machine shops over the years, he was employed at IES Systems in Canfield, Ohio. He enjoyed working alongside his son, Stephen, and good friend, Larry “Niner” Rustle and loved his job. Keith was also the instructor of Adult Education at the MCCTC for a couple of years. Keith and Terri resided in Greenford, Ohio and had a dream of a small farm in Salem, Ohio. Keith enjoyed tinkering in the garage, camping with the family and friends, fishing with the grandkids, taking “Max” for long walks, and practicing survival tactics with the woods. Keith was an avid Jeep lover, working on old Jeeps and attending Jeep events when he had spare time. Keith was an active member of the Mahoning County Pop Shop and was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2019 and served as Secretary. The Pop Shop was founded to provide monies to Mahoning County Junior Fair Youth Programs. The Pop Shop is a restaurant in the Junior Fair Area where you can still afford to feed your family breakfast, lunch, and dinner or grab their well-known milk shakes for a snack. The youth working in the Pop Shop learn skills of running a business, serving the public, and working together to provide the great food to the community at the fair. During the Canfield Fair, Keith could be found cooking and serving at the Pop Shop and mentoring the youth volunteers and spending time with Tony Carrera, his father-in-law, Duane Moff, his brother-in-law and the “Pop Shop Crew.” Keith was a devoted husband and loved his children, and grandchildren and was so proud of all they had accomplished. He was a man that believed to “plan your work and work your plan.” He was a man of big smiles, practical jokes, big hugs, and had a very big heart.
