LaVerne S. Latham, of Howland, passed away December 25, 2013, in Ashland, OH. LaVerne was born July 3, 1927 in Warren, OH, daughter of Clark and Mary (Hannigan) Palm. She worked for the Trumbull Lamp Company for a few years in the late 40's, and in the Howland Junior High School in the early 60's. Lavern was a member of the Moose Lodge in Niles, and a former member of the Niles and Echo Bowling Leagues. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts. LaVerne is survived by her daughter, Sarah Kerro of Huron; two sons, Ronald (Pam) Latham of Englewood, FL and William (Barb) Latham, Jr. of Ashland, OH; six grandchildren, Robert (Michelle) Kerro, Jr., Matthew (Jenn), Jeffrey (Emily), Scott, Lucas and Tyler Latham; three great grandchildren, Emma, Andrew and Alexis Kerro; two sisters, Evelyn Ruyle of Cortland, OH and Marilyn "Jean" Hill of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Latham, parents, two brothers, William Palm and Raymond "Bud" and one sister Mary Wireman. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. Warren, OH 44483, where funeral services will also be held 10:30 AM Saturday. Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Assoc. 1815 W. Market St. Suite 301, Akron, OH 44313.
