Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 14th at The Canfield Presbyterian Church for Lawrence H. McCully of Canfield who passed away Tuesday at Northern Virginia Community Hospital. Mr. McCully was born July 23, 1917 in Mifflinburg, PA. the son of Lloyd Kanter and Mary Magdaline (Visnofsky) McCully. A Lieutenant in the Navy, serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII, Larry was employed in 1951 by the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. and then the Jones & Laughlin Steel Co. (LTV) as director of the commercial planning division until his retirement in 1979. A graduate of The Penn State University class of 1939, Larry achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. He was also a member of the Canfield Presbyterian Church. He leaves two daughters: Susan Margaret Oesch of Falls Church, VA, and Amy Bancroft of Glastonbury, CT. 2 sisters: Mary Louise Calhoun of Berwyn-Paoli, PA, and Margaret (Peggy) Donley of Ogden, UT. Mr. McCully also leaves a brother Robert McCully of Ramey, PA. and 3 grandchildren: Adam, Morgan, and William Bancroft. Mr. McCully was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine (Morgan) McCully who passed away in 1989. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Friends may call at the church one-hour prior to the services on Monday from 12-1 PM.
