Canfield- Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for leo (Carl) Wilson of Austintown who passed away at The Cleveland Clinic on Saturday. Carl, as he was known by, was born November 30, 1920 in Shrewsbury, PA the son of Thomas and Rachel (Erhart) Wilson and came to this area as a child. He had been employed as a fitter, engineer, and foreman for Youngstown Welding, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9947 in Cornersburg and had been a Navy Veteran in WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre. He landed with General MacArthur on Guadalcanal at the end of the war. Besides his wife, Esther (Hartman) Wilson whom he married November 30, 1942, he leaves a son Raymond of Canfield, a brother Morgan of Vienna, a granddaughter Heide Lynn Rhodes, and a great-granddaughter, Casey Erin Rhodes both of McDonald.
