Lester Dow Scott, age 92, of Vienna, Ohio, died on Tuesday September 9, 2014 at 9:02PM at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. He was born on December 6, 1921 in Rock Creek, West Virginia, the son of the late Larenzo and Mary Etta (Rowan) Scott. Lester was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II and received European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, Good Conducts Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He worked for Vienna Township for many years before retiring in 1975. In his spare time he enjoyed working on his car and loved working outside. Survivors include two sons; Randall (Trudy) Scott of Fowler, OH, and Chuck (Robin) Scott of Struthers, OH, two daughters; Caroline (Bob) Kuntz of Girard, and Pam (Bill) Bartholomew of Vienna, whom he lived with for thirty five years, and one daughter in law, Donna Scott of Vienna, eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Benson) Scott, whom he married on June 5, 1941 and passed away on August 13, 1981, three sons; Larry, Bob, and Lester Scott Jr., two sisters; Virginia Catchpole and Thelma Bellig, and two brothers; Ralph and Ernie Scott. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, where Pastor Roger Wood will celebrate Lester's life. Friends may visit from 4-7PM on Friday September 12, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Vienna Twp. Cemetery.
