Lester V. Mellott

Lester Mellott, 78 of Canfield, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Born Friday, December 8, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late LeRoy Mellott and Josephine Baker Mellott. He was a 1957 graduate of Austintown Fitch and was employed through Local No. 171 as a Carpenter prior to retiring in 2013. He was also a member of the Saxon Club. He was a member of Ohltown Methodist Church. He loved woodworking, spending time with his family, and bowling. Survivors included are his son, David (Cathy) Mellott of Austintown, daughter, Andrea (Clark) Leonard of Canfield; his brothers Gene (Dorothy) Mellott of Austintown and Glenn Mellott of Las Vegas; his grandchildren Jennifer (Dave) Gossett, Brian (Tiffany) Mellott, Austin Leonard, Collin Leonard, Megan Leonard, and Morgan Leonard; and his great grandchildren Gionna, Keara, and Teagan. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Judith Ann (Lanterman) Mellott, whom he married June 21, 1958 and who died April 30, 2016; his daughter, Cheryl Mellott and his brother Paul R. Mellott. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday, July 16th from 5:00 PM - 7: 00 PM at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and Tuesday, July 17th at 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at the Ohltown United Methodist Church in Mineral Ridge, 2001 Ohltown Road, Mineral Ridge. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Ohltown United Methodist Church in Lesters name.
