Linda Lucille Butson-Burke

July 17, 1954 — October 19, 2024

Warren

Linda Lucille Butson-Burke, 70, of Warren, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, their spouses and her grandchildren in her home on October 19, 2024.

Linda was born July 17, 1954, in Sharon, PA, the daughter of Howard and Jane Butson. She graduated from WGH in 1972. She also received a certificate in welding and was a certified EAP representative.

Linda worked at GM for 30 years. She loved to tell stories of her welding days. She was a proud UAW 1112 union member and was active on the Women’s Committee. She was later promoted to EAP representative around 1991 and spent her career assisting her union brothers and sisters when in need. She forged lifelong relationships with the union employees, union representatives and management. Through the EAP program, she helped save many employees their jobs and was truly loved by many. She had a passion for helping others and looked forward to going to work to do so.

Linda met the love of her life while at GM, John Martin Burke, her “TDH” (Tall, Dark and Handsome). They married on July 3, 1995, and bought their dream century home and spent the next few years restoring it. They were extremely proud of their home and the work they did renovating it.

Linda spent Sundays and holidays having dinner with their 4 children and, later, their grandchildren. Linda adored her family and wanted nothing more than to spend time with them. They spent every holiday gathered in the big home with her cooking delicious meals while they doted on the grandchildren. They spent summers at the Warren ELKS swimming and having picnics, and at her daughter’s pool, in more recent years. Nobody in the world was more important to her and John than their grandchildren.

She also loved spending time with her brother, Marc, and her nephews, Shawn and Kyle. They loved to meet on Friday nights for dinner and LOTS of laughter, and traveling to North Carolina to visit Kyle and his wife, Emily.

She enjoyed traveling and having dinner with close friends, Tom Varley and Mickey Hians, and their wives and families. She also enjoyed meeting girlfriends for lunch and shopping, dining, traveling and gambling with her bestie, Michelle.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jane Butson, her siblings, Cathy (Michael) Reider, and Steven Butson, her beloved husband, John Burke, and her sister-inlaw, Marcia Burke.

Linda is survived by her children, Michael (Wendy) Fisher, Eric Fisher, and Carie (Fred) Rivera, her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, Arianna (Anthony) Mendez, Ronnie Sorace, Jacob Sorace, Aubrey Fisher, Alexa Rivera, Dylan Simmons, Autumn Fisher, Evan Fisher, Freddie Rivera, Michelle Fisher, Leah Fisher, Madden Morales and Sonny Mendez, her brother, Marc Butson, and nieces and nephews, Wayne Tichenor and family, Lori Tichenor and family, Shawn Butson and Kyle (Emily) Butson and family.

The family will receive friends at Lane-Roberts Clark Funeral Home, 180 Garfield Dr, Warren, OH, 44483, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2-4pm with service immediately following.
