Linda J. Crawford

Austintown A memorial service celebrating the life of Linda J. Crawford will be held at 6:30 PM Friday June 13, 2014 at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Linda passed away Monday afternoon in Briarfield Manor with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 11, 1948 in Youngstown the daughter of the late Stanley and Edna Mae (Wilt) Miller. Linda was a graduate of Brookfield High School class of 1967 and received her B.S in Technical Arts in Theater from YSU in 2003. She worked as a Cosmetology Teacher for The Victor George School until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the Drama Club at YSU and a volunteer in costume design with local theaters. Linda enjoyed old movies, reading, animals, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Linda leaves three daughters, Kelly Jo Crawford (Rhonda Shelton) of Livonia, MI, Kendra Jae Crawford (Daryl Snyder) of Boardman, and Kasandra Joi Casto (David Casto) of Austintown, one son Carl David Crawford II (Gina Gender) of Struthers, one sister Grace Linden of Austintown, 8 grandchildren, Sabastian, Aaron, David, Eric, Gabby, Jenna, Kelly, and Tyler, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Lizzie, and Lilly. Besides her parents, Linda was also preceded in death by her husband Carl D. Crawford, whom she married August 4, 1968. He passed away December 5, 1998. She is also preceded in death by one brother Charles Miller, and her long time companion Cecilio "Chico" Ortiz who passed away July 12, 2007.
