Linda J. OBrien (Bodnar), age 71, of Grafton and formerly of Boardman, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 16, 2018 along with her life partner Edward Zezlina as a result of a plane accident. Born August 5, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah; she was the daughter of Edward OBrien and Mary Efurd. Linda was active in Democratic politics in the Youngstown area. She was the first woman to hold office in the South County Democratic Mens Club in Youngstown; she was elected as the State Central Committeewoman representing Mahoning County as well as parts of Columbiana and Trumbull Counties; she was a member of the 1992 Electoral College; and was active in Boy Scouts and the Ronald McDonald House. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints. She retired in 2017 from the Mahoning County Auditors Office. Survivors include her children: Troy Bodnar, Robert (Kathy) Bodnar, and Debbi (Jim) Beeman; grandchildren: Nicole and Katie Bodnar, Jimmy, Lucas, and Christopher Beeman; brother and sisters: Randall Ruark, Mary Ann Bentti, Susan Fulbright, and Carol Adams, as well as a sister-in-law Karen OBrien. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Cary OBrien. Private services will be held for the family. Memorials may be made in her honor to Angels for Animals.
