Mrs. Louise Luella Bacorn, 79, of Fowler, OH; went to be with the Lord today at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Mercer County; the daughter of Frederick and Edna Yungbluth. On Oct. 21st, 1967, she married Thomas E. Bacorn of Champion. Together they were foster parents for multiple children before adopting two into their forever home. A Fowler resident for more than 70 years, Louise was an active and beloved member of Fowler United Methodist Church, where she helped nurture fellowship in the community by volunteering her time and skills. She was also a 50-year church choir member and encouraged her children to sing as well. Louise was also a 60-plus-year member of Hartford Chapter 518 Order of the Eastern Star, enjoyed playing with friends in various Card Clubs, and was part of the Loony Loomers group, knitting hats for those less fortunate. She was also a bank teller for Cortland Banks and Bloomfield Banks at various branches for 25 years. Louise relished in her role as “Grammy” and loved every second she could spend with her precious grandchildren. She also greatly enjoyed and took pride in being a wonderful homemaker and loving mother, cooking and baking her famous brownies and cheesecakes. Going on camping trips, especially the annual vacation at Grandview Lodge in Canada and family travels in Europe are memories that she treasured. She was an avid puzzle solver and loved wordplay games, sewing, gardening, taking laps in the swimming pool, and hosting holiday dinners for family. Louise Bacorn was immensely loved by all of her family, friends, community members, and coworkers and she will be forever missed. She touched all our lives profoundly and we are so blessed and grateful to have had the time that we did together, with so many incredible memories. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Thomas Bacorn of Fowler; two children, Tommy Bacorn and Deborah Workinger; son-in-law Christopher Workinger; and two grandchildren, Carolynn and Abigail. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Edna Yungbluth, and her sister June Davis. Friends and family may call at Fowler United Methodist Church, Friday Feb. 16 from 10 am - 12 pm. Burial ceremony will be in Dugan Cemetery immediately following the service, and then a fellowship dinner will be held at the church afterward. The family requests material contributions take the form of donations to the church.
