Margaret Ann "Peg" McClead, 97 of Howland Township, died Thursday afternoon, May 2, 2019, at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles, Ohio. She was born January 31, 1922 in Sharpsville, the daughter of the late Charles Oliver and Mary Ellen Hutchison Fry. She had lived and worked in Howland for many years, spending time in Eustis, Florida with her husband, Gerald. Peg had worked for Strouss-Hirschberg's and Griswolds in Warren and retired in 1982 as a cook from Howland Local Schools, where she worked at the junior high school for 18 years. Peg was a member of the Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church in Greenville, Pa. and the Howland SCOPE. She and her husband enjoyed spending time at their hunting camp at Cook's Forest in Leeper, Pa. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara L. Eckenrod of Howland; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jane Scott of Greenville and Nancy Baker Gainesville, Fla. and one brother, Raymond H. Fry of Greenville. Her husband of 61 years, Gerald L. McClead, whom she married January 6, 1940 preceded her in death in 2001. Her son, Robert Charles McClead died in January 2005; four brothers, Carl, Charles, David and Stanley Fry and five sisters, Barbara Reed, Linda Courtney, Wanda Reigleman, Louise Ross and Ethelwyn "Becky" Murrin have also preceded her in death. A family memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Per Peg's wishes, cremation was held and burial will be in Greenville next to her husband.
