There will be Services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel for Margaret E. Baker, 89, who passed away Monday evening at Windsor House at Canfield. Margaret was born October 22, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Lawrence and Dulcey Heasley Huffman, coming to the Youngstown area in 1975. She was a graduate of Shaler High School. Margaret was an accountant in Pittsburgh for many years. She was then employed with various nursing homes as an administrator in the Youngstown area before retiring in 1987. Later in life, Margaret had the blessing of sharing precious time not just with her beautiful family but also her large circle of friends, who became like family. All who knew her, loved her. She was a member of First Federated Church of North Jackson. Margaret was also a member of the Lake Milton Womens Association where she was a past president, treasurer and secretary, the Austintown Optimist Club and the Red Hat Society. She was also a past president of the Herons Landing Home Owners Assoc. Margaret enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to Hilton Head, SC. Margarets first husband, Robert Ferla, whom she married Sept. 20, 1948, died in 1974 and her second husband, Thomas Baker, whom she married in 1976, died Jan. 31, 2006. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene A. (Richard) Schaefer of Austintown, Kathie L. (Terry) Bardwell of Hudson, Sue (Bill) Lemmon of Lake Milton and Diane (Bill) Purnell of Austintown; her brothers, Bill Huffman and Tom (Susan) Huffman, both of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren, Doug (Aimee) Schaefer, Katie (Josh) Silfies, Kelsey (Adam) Blazak, Kipp Lemmon, Kris (Andrea) Lemmon, Kim (Jim) Donithan, Eric (Shelly) Derrow and Shelly (John) Justice; her gr. grandchildren, Liam, Lennix and Nora and her Maltese dog, Charlie. Besides her parents and husbands, Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne (Harry) Darrow; her brother, Larry (Jean) Huffman; her sister, Pat (Steve) Spirnock and her sisters-in-law, Marge Huffman and Linda Huffman. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, prior to the Service at the funeral home.
