A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Margaret L. Fisher Zimmerman will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018 in St Christine Church. Margaret passed away early Wednesday morning, December 19, 2018, in Hospice House at the age of 101. She was born November 11, 1917 in Hartford, Ohio the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Boos) Sturgeon. She was a graduate of South High School and had worked as a bookkeeper for Liberty Auto and also worked for Bill Evans Accountants doing income tax preparation. Margaret was a member of St. Christine Church and Tippecanoe Country Club where she was an avid golfer, playing the sport into her late 80s. She was also an avid swimmer, enjoyed water aerobics and yoga, as well as playing cards. Her first husband, Bernard Fisher, whom she married July 31, 1940, passed away in 1969. Margaret married her second husband, Thomas Zimmerman on March 19, 1977, he passed away in 1995. She leaves four children, Judy (Jim) Rafoth of Canfield, Donna (Tony) Lutsi of Naples, FL, Kenny Fisher of Boardman, and Michael Fisher of Canfield, one sister, Gert Dietz of Edinburgh, PA, as well as six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husbands, Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Curry and Mary Skovira, and one brother Bill Sturgeon. Friends and family may call from Noon until 1 PM Saturday at St. Christine Church where the mass will begin at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Angels for Animals in Margarets name. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.
