Margaret Maguire

d. February 14, 1931

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 9 at 11:00 am at Venture Church, 7872 Glenwood Ave, Boardman for Margaret S. Maguire of Boardman, who died early Sunday evening at her residence. Margaret, known as "Marge" was born on Valentines Day, February 14, 1931 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Mary and John Hartig and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from The Rayen High School and attended Youngstown State University for a few years. Marge worked at General Fireproofing for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. Marge then worked for the Medical Dental Bureau until she was 84 years old. She dearly loved this job and enjoyed comforting and helping people connect with their doctor in an emergency. Marge was an avid reader and enjoyed walking and traveling. Marge enjoyed traveling to the ocean beaches and to Lake Erie with family and to New York City, where she visited the Worlds Fair with her daughter and friend Kay Bachner. She studied ballroom dancing with Julio Chavez at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Marge was hard working and was known for her friendliness, generosity, and warm radiant smile. She was a member of Honterus and Bethel Lutheran and Venture Methodist churches. She loved Jesus and knew that God was always with her. Marge was a strong person and had survived breast cancer TWICE. First in her early 60s and later in her 80s. She was very grateful for all of the help, kindness, and caring of her church family. She leaves her daughter Becky "Rebecca" Maguire of Hartstene Island, WA, sister-in-law Alice Hartig, nieces Debbie and Beth; nephews Robin and Craig (Helene) and children Jessica and Travis, and cousins in Cleveland and Columbus. Besides her parents, Marge was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Tablac, and brothers Henry and John Hartig.
