There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Margaret Podolsky, 89 of Kenosha, Wisconsin, formerly of Austintown, who died Wednesday evening at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Margaret, known as “Marge” was born November 21, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Norman and Frances (Buckle) Taylor and was a lifelong area resident until moving to be with her daughter in 2001. Marge graduated from South High School in 1948 and became a licensed cosmetologist, working as a beautician for several years. She owned and operated the Austintown Roller Arena with her husband from 1962-1967. After her children started school, Marge worked for Burger King for 10 years and then Kwik Fill from 1985 until she retired in 2000. She was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Austintown and St. Therese Parish in Kenosha, Wisconsisn. She was involved with the PTA and the Athletic Department at Immaculate Heart of Mary School and was a foster grandparent for Head Start and also a band booster for Henry Clay High School. Marge was a die-hard Cleveland Indians fan and loved to play cards, especially 500 Rummy, always beating her children. Her husband, Eugene D. Podolsky whom she married May 22, 1952, died_September 6, 1983. She leaves two sons, Dr. David (Denise) Podolsky of Canfield, George (Sandy) Podolsky of Austintown; one daughter, MargaretAnn (John) Gall, with whom she made her home; six grandchildren, Dana (Marty) Susmaras, Kelli (Randy) Rogan, Dr. Alan Podolsky, Michael (Adrianna) Podolsky, Jeffrey (Giavonna Cappabianca) Podolsky, Jacqueline Podolsky; two great-grandchildren, Luca and Raya. Margaret also leaves a sister, June (Marshall) Martin of Berlin Center; several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Peppy. Besides her parents and her husband, Marge was preceded in death by an infant son, Alan; a sister, Norma Jones and a brother, Louis Taylor. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, followed by the mass at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
