Margaret Ricker

June 21, 1924 — April 3, 2018

Margaret Ricker, 93, of Victoria House Assisted Living, formerly of Rhoda Avenue in Youngstown, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Margaret was born June 21, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of John and Ilona Krupa. She was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church, the former Slovak Presbyterian Church, and the former John Calvin-St. Paul United Church of Christ. She retired from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services in 2000 with 28 years of service. She was an avid Reader and was never seen without a book. She would like to thank the Youngstown Public Library for keeping her supplied with her reading materials for over 40 years. She was also an avid golfer and treasures the time spent with her husband on the courses. Her husband Frederick A. Ricker, whom she married on October 27, 1943, passed away May 21, 1994. Margaret leaves two sons, Fred (Denise) Ricker of Endicott, New York and Mark (Ofelia) Ricker of Las Vegas, Nevada. She also leaves two grandsons, Kevin of Eugene, Oregon, and Matthew (Dr. Mari), and two great granddaughters, Elsa and Gemma, all of Tucson, Arizona. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Margarets life will take place at Lake Park Cemetery with interment to follow in the indoor mausoleum on Monday, April 23 at 10:30 AM. The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria House for the care, love and support given Margaret over her 13 years with them. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Public Library of Youngstown in Margaret's name.
