Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Kerr Cemetery Chapel for Marguerite L. Bowden, formerly of Mineral Ridge, who passed away Saturday evening at Kettering Medical Center. Marguerite was born July 17, 1918 in Mineral Ridge a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Harriett W. (Cline) Lane. She was a founding member of the Fairmont Presbyterian Church in Kettering and touched thousands of lives through her gift of music, both secular and sacred. A devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother and community volunteer, Marguerite will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Bowdy” Bowden. She is survived by five children: Robert Joe (Kaaran) Bowden of Barnhart, MO, Charlane (Sunny Aldridge) Bowden of Hinckley, James Roger (Carol) Bowden of Sevilla, Spain, Richard Logan (Karan) Bowden of Kettering, and Cynthia Bowden (Lance) Stafford of Aurora, IN; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one expectant great granddaughter. Besides her parents and husband, Marguerite is preceded in death by a daughter Christine Bowden Harris; one sister: Charlotte Flickinger and one brother: Joseph O. Lane. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45429 or ALS Association, 1275 K St. NW Ste 1050, Washington, DC 20005, in Marguerite’s name. Arrangements are entrusted to Lane Funeral Homes Mineral Ridge Chapel.
