Marilla Rose Fellows

Memorial services will be held at a later date for Marilla Rose Fellows, 94, of Austintown who passed away early Friday morning, March 1, 2019. Marilla was born June 22, 1924 in Youngstown the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Erdenkauf) Burkett. She was a 1941 graduate of South High School and attended Alleghany College. Marilla worked as a freelance writer and retired in 1986 from WFMJ. She was a member of Austintown Community Church, its Friendship Circle, and was part of the Easter Sunrise Service Play for many years. Marilla was a wealth of knowledge and could answer any question. She enjoyed learning and loved finding the answers. Her hobbies included reading, making books, and watching Jeopardy. Family and friends were most important to Marilla. Her husband Albert Stephen Fellows Jr., whom she married February 14, 1945, passed away in 1964. Marilla leaves two sons, Tim (Kathie) Fellows of Austintown and Mark (Karen) Fellows of Youngstown, four grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) Fellows of Dresden, OH, Brad Michael Fellows of Cleveland, Amy (Dominic) Gaudio of Boardman, and Rob (Megan) Fellows of Kissimmee, FL., as well as seven great grandchildren, Tylor Grzyb, Noah Grzyb, Dominic Gaudio II, Mia Gaudio, Lana Fellows, Matthew Fellows Jr., and Ryan Fellows, and a sister-in-law Cindy Burkett. Besides her parents and her husband, Marilla was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph "Skip" and James Burkett. The family would like to thank the staff of Austinwoods and Crossroads Hospice for all of their tender care of Marilla.
