Marilyn E. Entzi (Amey), 85 A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield Chapel for Marilyn E. (Amey) Entzi, 85 of Boardman who died early Friday morning at Vibra Hospital in Boardman. Marilyn was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Youngstown, OH, the first-born child and only daughter of Louis H. and Leona Mae (Applegate) Amey. She was a life-long area resident who graduated from Boardman High School in 1951. Marilyn was a sales associate at McKelveys and Strouss and a buyer for the lingerie department at Livingstons prior to her marriage. An avid golfer, swimmer and tennis player, Marilyn joined the Boardman Tennis and Swim Club in 1963 as a charter member and remained a member until her death, more than 55 years later. She was also an accomplished Bridge player, who was known for her competitive nature and frequent tournament championships. Marilyn was an enthusiastic adventurer who, having traveled to all seven continents and countless countries, mesmerized her many nieces and nephews with tales of the wonderful places shed seen. It was a favorite game of the younger children to try and guess someplace aunt Marilyn had never been. They never succeeded in identifying someplace until one of them asked if she had ever been to "outer space." Marilyn enjoyed her time with young children believing that "you never know when something you say or do will influence the life of a child." She was preceded in death by the love of her life, John O. Entzi, whom she married in 1961, died on Nov. 8, 1994. Marilyn leaves her brothers, Robert (Nancy) Amey of Salem, OH and William (Jean) Amey of Boardman, OH; her grandson, Mark (Darlene) Puhalla of San Antonio, FL; two great granddaughters ; one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Amey. Friends may call on Thursday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
