Marjorie G Hampton

Mineral Ridge- Services celebrating the life of Marjorie Gail Hampton will be held at 11am Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel. Marj was born November 9, 1944 in Warren Ohio the daughter of William A. and Mary E. (Long) Hampton. Marj was a lifelong Mineral Ridge resident. She graduated from Mineral Ridge High School in 1962 and attended Youngstown State College. Her working career began when she was 13 years old babysitting for the Lane Family. She worked as an administrative assistant and hair dresser for Lane Funeral Homes for over 48 years retiring in 2010. For many of those years she was the daily voice on the other end of the telephone helping grieving families or dispatching an ambulance. Marj was a very active member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Niles where she had served as a liturgist and was Chairperson of the Worship Committee. She had also been a member of the Rebekka Lodge in Mineral Ridge for many years. Although Marj was never married nor had children; she loved children and was Aunt Marj to many. She will be sadly missed by her siblings; Peggy Jo Hampton, Connie Sue (Guy) Ferrelli and her brother Ronald (Alfie) Hampton she also leaves many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends may call from 4pm-7pm Sunday at the Mineral Ridge Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to, Hospice of the Valley or to the Humility House.
