Marlene L. DeCenso

Marlene L DeCenso, 93, of Youngstown, passed away surrounded by her family on January 28, 2025 at the Hospice House in Poland, OH.

She was born on January 14, 1932 to Jess and Beverly Martin in Youngstown, OH. She graduated from South High. On September 9, 1950 she married John DeCenso who preceded her in death in October of 1997.

Marlene cherished her time caring for her family as a homemaker and prior to marriage worked as a secretary until they had children.

Spending time with her children was very important to Marlene. She was a Den mother for Cub Scouts, and a Troup leader for Brownies. Friends were also an important part of Marlene's life. She spent time golfing with friends at Dogwood Golf Course in the Tee-Timers League. Bowling at Wedgewood Lanes was another hobby she enjoyed with friends. She enjoyed traveling, and family vacations to Florida, Lake Erie, California, Bermuda & Hawaii and other locations around the US.

Left to treasure her memory are her two Daughters, Joanne (Ron) Musgrove of Austintown, OH, Susan DeCenso (Cheech Nerrone) of Youngstown, OH; two Sons, John (Patti) DeCenso of Austintown, OH, Robert (Amy) DeCenso of Austintown, OH. Marlene also had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a sister Judy Chabut, a grandson Kyle Vincent Long, and a granddaughter Jessica Lynn Beacham.

A private gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
