Marlene Smales Taylor, 75, formally of Warren, died Friday, February 12, 2016, surrounded by her family at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. Marene was born on May 5, 1940 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gersey) Smales. Marlene was a 1958 graduate from Ketterlinus High School in St. Augustine Florida. She moved back to the Warren area in 1960, where she then worked as a Lab Technician for Delphi Packard; retiring in January of 2000, after 37 years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting and doing crafts with her daughter and granddaughter. Marlene also travelled all throughout the United States. She leaves behind a daughter Michele Gianoutsos Taylor, of Dublin, Ohio, with whom she lived, and also a granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Taylor, whom she adored. Marlene also leaves behind her dear sister, Amelia Tsilimos of Howland and nephews Jonathan Tsilimos and Steffan Tsilimos. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother in law John Tsilimos. Family and friends may call Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lane family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. Warren, 444484; a Trisagion Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrius Hellenic Orthodox Church, 429 High St. Warren, Ohio with father Valantasis officiating. Interment will take place at Pineview memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Marlene's name to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave # 1300 Pittsburgh, PA. 15222.
