Marnie T. Thomas

Marnie T. (Thornton) Thomas, age 74, of Cortland, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018. Born March 29, 1944; she was the daughter of E. Carroll and Lucy (Evans) Thornton. Marnie graduated from The Rayen School in 1962; attended Muskingum College, YSU, as well as Kent State University. She was a member of the Canfield Presbyterian Church, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Youngstown, and a board member of the Youngstown Area Visiting Nurses Association. Survivors include her husband Robert C. Thomas, whom she married on June 12, 1965; daughters, Deborah (Kelly) Montgomery and Amy Booker (Larry Fouch); grandchildren: Hayley (Brandon) Stewart, Turner Montgomery, and Audrey Montgomery; a sister, Anita (Bertram) Parker, and a brother, E. Carroll (Donna) Thornton, Jr; brother-in-law, John Thomas, and a sister-in-law, Marjorie (Glenn) Patterson. Friends will be received at the Canfield Presbyterian Church on Thursday from 5-8PM, and again one hour prior to the 11:00AM service at the church on Friday, with Pastor Larry Boward officiating. Burial will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to either the Canfield Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or the Northeastern Ohio Arthritis Foundation.
