Marsha Ann Dobbins

Marsha A. (Hibbs) Dobbins, age 54, of Cortland, Ohio, died at home on Saturday, February 3, 2007 after a courageous three year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on February 10, 1952 in Fairmont, WV., the daughter of Holbert and Ann Hibbs. Marsha enjoyed reading, traveling and her two cats and dog. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Marsha especially enjoyed the time that she was able to spend with her family camping in Andover. However, Marsha may best be remembered as a woman who had a passion for teaching. She was a 2nd grade teacher for thirty years for the Grand Valley School System. She loved being a teacher and had not missed a day of work until she got sick and had to retire in October of 2004. Mrs. Dobbins truly loved the children whom she taught and the children loved her back. Marsha touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her husband Lawrence J. Dobbins, whom she married on June 24, 1972. Also surviving is her daughter, Heather L. Dobbins of Cortland, her parents, Holbert and Anne of Florida and several Nephews. Mrs. Dobbins was preceded in death by a nephew, Jerod. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, 164 North High Street, Cortland, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, February 5, 2007. The family will again receive friends one hour prior to the Funeral service which will be at the Orwell North Presbyterian Church, 135 North Maple, Orwell, Ohio, at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 6, 2007.
