Martha E. Mowen

Funeral services will be held 10am Monday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Martha E. Mowen, 90, who passed away at Trumbull Memorial Hospital on Friday. Martha was born on September 13, 1919 in Wellsville, Ohio the daughter of Eugene Thorn Sr and Mabel (Williamson) Thorn. She was a 1938 graduate of Alliance High School. She was employed for 20 years as a Retail Sales Clerk at Rite Aid, and she retired in 1986. Martha enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her husband, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Martha is survived by her husband Robert Mowen of 67 years, whom she married on July 26, 1942. She also leaves two sons, Gary (Debbie) Mowen of Niles and Roger Mowen of Columbiana. Martha also leaves five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Lois (Jack) Ringer and Bernice Chevaux of Louisville, Ohio. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Friends and family may call from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
