Martin Dale "Herbie" Magee, There will be a prayer service Tuesday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Martin Dale Magee, 93 of Austintown who died early Sunday morning, March 31st at Humility House. Martin, known as "Herbie" was born April 26, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late William and Grace (Warner) Magee and came to this area in 2011 from Detroit. Martin had served in the U.S. Navy for four years and also the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired as a military staff sergeant E5 after serving 30 years. Martin then worked on the assembly line for Chrysler in Detroit for 22 years, retiring in 1987. Martin loved sports and was an avid Detroit Tiger and Detroit Lion fan. He leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Jackee and Michael Phillips of Austintown; three grandchildren, Bridgette (Mike) Bobonick, Anthony (Veronica) Duponty, Michael (Michelle) Phillips; six great-grandsons, Michael, Zack, Anthony, Mikey, Cohen and Tyler and one great-granddaughter, Alex. He also leaves a cousin, Cindy (Don) Basar of Detroit. Besides his parents, Martin was preceded in death by two sons Joseph and Martin.
