Martin L. "Marty" Feeney, 78 of Austintown died Monday evening, September 24, 2018, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1940 in Washington, Pennsylvania the son of the late Terrance Patrick and Cecelia A. Donahue Feeney. His family moved to Trumbull county in 1948 and he was raised in Champion Township. Marty was a 1957 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Warren. He served as a flight crew chief in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1961, which he referred to as "Uncle Sam's Canoe Club". He received his electronics certification from DeVry Institute in Chicago. Marty then worked for Gray Communications in Chicago and San Francisco for a few years, retiring in 2007 from General Motors in Lordstown where he worked for 40 years and was a member of the UAW. Marty was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed traveling with his companion, Irene to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Marty is survived by two sisters, Sheila M. York of Mansfield and Eileen M. (Larry) Dyett of Mecca Twp.; two brothers, Terrence F. Feeney of Florida and Timothy G. (Joyce) Feeney of Austintown and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister, Jane E. Sanders and his longtime companion for 44 years, D. Irene Crawford both have preceded him in death. The memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. Inurnment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Canfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's local Salvation Army Citadel.
