Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Bullock of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 6:45 PM at Hospice House in Poland, OH. She was 93 years old. Betty was a loving caring Mother and a devoted wife. Betty Bullock was born on May 1, 1916 in Brockway, PA to Harry R. and Eva (Tobin) Marshall. She enjoyed sixty-seven years of a loving marriage with Byron L. Bullock. They were married on July 31, 1942 in Youngstown, OH and they raised three sons. She was a graduate of the Margaret Hague School of Nursing in New York and went on to work as a Registered Nurse at North Side Hospital in Youngstown, OH where she served as the head nurse for maternity and delivery for more than forty years. She was along time member of Brookfield United Methodist Church in Brookfield, OH, where she had been involved in the Women's Club and various activities. She was active in the PTA supporting her sons and coordinated securing national music groups for one of their Proms. Betty loved playing cards and had enjoyed playing with several friends weekly in her neighborhood clubs. She was also known as an accomplished seamstress who made and sold fine afghans and formal window treatments; as well as embroidery for her family. In her free time she enjoyed vegetable gardening, as well as, taking care of her beloved Hyacinth flowers at her home. Betty is survived by her husband Byron; sons Nicholas and his wife Nancy of Wall, NJ and Dennis and his wife Alice Lyn of East Amherst, NY; daughter-in-law Sally Bullock of Texas. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her son Richard Bullock on December 23, 2004, brother Raymond Marshall, and her sisters Mable Allis, Eleanor Rutherford, and Arlene Buckman. Calling / Visiting hours will be held on Monday evening March 15, 2010 at the Lane Funeral Homes-Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, OH from 4-6:00 PM. A Funeral service will follow the Calling hours and will begin at 6:00PM with the Rev. Bill Johnson of Brookfield United Methodist Church as Pastor. Entombment will be on Tuesday March 16th, 2010 at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH. As an expression of sympathy the family wishes that contributions be made on her behalf to Humility of Mary Hospice House 5190 Market Street Youngstown, OH 444512.
