Mary E. Chappell

YOUNGSTOWN- Mary E. Chappell, age 97, formerly of Fowler, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Hospice House surrounded by her family. Mary was born December 31, 1920 in Gilmer County, West Virginia to the late Loyd B. and Alice Moody. During World War II, Mary worked for Republic Steel in the research department and Packard Electric (now Delphi); She attended Welding School at Warren City Manufacturing. Mary was an avid golfer, she loved to travel, and relished casinos and gambling. Besides her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband Bruce M. Chappell, they married May 1, 1948, he passed March 2, 2001; her sisters, Flora, Opal, and Dora; and her brothers Major, Elmer, and Brooks. She will be missed by her daughters, Joyce (Kenny) Thomas of Brookfield and Jan (John) Savu of Edgemont, Arkansas, her grandson Kevan R. Thomas, her great-granddaughter Madison Marie Thomas; her sister Garnett McKinney, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no services, burial will be private in Dugan Cemetery.
