Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church, Mineral Ridge for Mary Ellen Smith of 1647 Burnett St., Mineral Ridge who died Monday afternoon at Trumbull Memorial Hospital-Forum Health, Warren. Mary Ellen was born June 24,1915 in Girard, OH. A daughter of James and Bertha (Swartz) Hammell. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed growing flowers and gardening. Mary Ellen is survived by her children Joseph J., Jr., Thomas S., and George R. Smith of Mineral Ridge, Mary Hake-Miller of Mineral Ridge, and Douglas A. Smith of Orwell, OH; 11 Grandchildren and 15 Gr. Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Smith, Sr. whom she married Nov. 10, 1934 died Sept. 28, 1986; a son Clair; and 3 Brothers and 3 Sisters. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel
