Mary Ferko, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 following a declining period of health. Born May 8, 1923 in Denbo, PA; she was the daughter of Mike and Mary (Copa) Molnar. She grew up in Warren and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. Mary was married to Andy Ferko on November 26, 1940; together they built and made their home in Champion where she lived most of her life. Mary was a member of St John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Warren where she was active in the Sisterhood. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan; she enjoyed gardening and flowers, watching and feeding the birds, canning, working puzzles, knitting, crafts, and sewing. Survivors include two sons: Andrew (Norene) of Wilmington, NC, and Ronald (Carol) of Canfield; one grandchild, David (Lisa) of Hilliard; two great-grandchildren: Alexa and Nicholas; a sister, Anne Gyurek of Warren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Andy who passed away on March 6, 2001; five brothers: Michael, John, Charlie, Andy, and George Molnar. Friends will be received on Sunday, from 4-6PM at St John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 2220 Reeves Rd., Warren; and again one hour prior to the 11:00AM service on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the church. Burial will take place next to her husband at the Pineview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.
