Mary Ida Penny, 89 Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Mary Ida Penny, 89, of Canfield, who died early Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. Mary was born on Christmas Day, 1929, the youngest of nine children to the late Perry and Goldie (Lawrence) Kimmel and was a lifelong area resident. Mary graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1947 and worked as a secretary for Thomas Fok and Associates, retiring in 2001. Previously she worked for Dr. Maria Fok. She was a member of Smith Corners United Methodist Church. Mary enjoyed attending auctions, garage sales, playing cards and belonged to a card club for 30 years. She leaves her husband of 68 years, Raymond E. Penny, whom she married December 8, 1950; two daughters, Patty Kurth of Canfield, Bonny (Joe) McHenry of Youngstown and one son, Raymond E. (Michelle) Penny, Jr. of Austintown. Mary also leaves six grandchildren, Katie Kurth, Kristen (Myles) Oakley, Joey (Stacey) McHenry, Meredith McHenry, Raymond Penny, III, and Alexandra Penny. Mary was very devoted to her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Rd., Austintown, OH 44515.
