Mary Jane Smith

Austintown- There will be no services or calling hours for Mary Jane Smith age 81 of Austintown who died Friday eve. at her home. Mary Jane was born June 11, 1921 in Youngstown and was the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Williams) Carson. She had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Northside Hospital retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Austintown Community Church, did volunteer work for the Red Cross, served in the U.S. Army as a nurse in the South Pacific, was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Wickliffe, graduated from St. Lukes Nursing School in Cleveland and had attended the University of Southern California. Her husband, Randall H. Smith, Sr. whom she married March 11, 1948 died Dec. 12, 1992. She is survived by two sons, Randall H. Smith, Jr. of Salem, Robert Smith of Austintown, two sisters, Betty Lawn of McDonald, Joyce Renzenbrink of Poland, a brother James Carson of New Middletown, OH, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
