Mary K. Sartori

Cortland - Mary K. Sartori, 92, long-time resident of Brookfield and recent resident of Cortland, passed away Monday morning, January 15, 2018 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland, OH. Mary was born on February 11, 1925 in Masury, OH, a daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica (Washko) Valent. She was a graduate of Brookfield High School. After high school, she got married to her husband of 56 years, Oliver Sartori. She worked at Westinghouse, Simpson Optical, and Valley View. She also worked with her husband at their bar, the Brookfield Inn for years. She loved to cook for people and loved being with their loyal customers and friends. She mostly enjoyed being around all her family and loved to tell a good story. She will be deeply missed by her children, Barbara Diehl of Cortland and Gary (Mary) Sartori of Cortland; grandchildren, Aaron Diehl, Leyla and Justin Sartori; step-grandchilden, John, Michael, and Anthony Perry; her great-grandson Christopher Buchman; her sister in law, Norene Sartori; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oliver Sartori, whom she, married on September 7, 1946 and passed away on September 25, 2002; her son Paul Sartori; sisters, Margaret Kushner, Josephine Sartori, Vera Sabol and Mildred Valent; and her brother Edward Valent. Memorial service for Mary will be held on Friday January 19, 2018 at 1:00PM at Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel, at 6923 Warren Sharon Road in Brookfield. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 12-1:00PM at the funeral home.
