Mary Lou Johnson

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mary Lou Johnson, 89, will be held 1 PM Monday, April 29, at the Lane Funeral Home, Anstrom Chapel in Boardman. Mary Lou passed away Friday evening, April 26, 2019 at Victoria House Assisted Living Center. She was born March 11, 1930 in Salem the daughter of Edward C. and Mary (Russell) Allen. Mary Lou was a graduate of South High School class of 1948 and had worked as a secretary at Cailor Fleming Insurance Agency in Boardman, retiring in 1988. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as a Trustee. Mary Lou was also a member of the Christian Womens Club, the Four-Square Club and the High School Girls Bridge Club. On November 17, 1951, Mary Lou married Norman L. Johnson, they were married 49 years until his passing in 2001. Mary Lou leaves three children, Judy A. (Thomas) Draper of Canfield, Jeffrey A. (Lori) Johnson of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Jeanne L. (Jack) Rider of Boardman, eight grandchildren, Kati (Justin) Shearer of Philadelphia, PA, Kari (Ed) Ross of Rockingham, NC, Brian (Amanda) Rider of Athens, OH, Kristi (Dustin) Schenker of Canfield, Lauren (Keith) Karas of Poland, Tyler Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Conner Johnson of Laguna Niguel CA, and Kylie Johnson of Dallas TX, as well as eight great grandchildren. Mary Lou also leaves a brother Walter L. (JoAnn) Allen of Boardman, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Boardman. Besides her parents and husband, Mary Lou is preceded in death by a brother Thomas E. Allen, and a brother-in-law Robert Johnson. Friends may call from Noon to 1 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home, Anstrom Chapel, 8387 Tod Avenue Boardman, Ohio 44512. The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria House for all loving care given Mary Lou during her stay there. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to Camp Fitch in Mary Lous name.
