Mary M. Hunt Ferguson

Mary M. Ferguson, 95 of Lake Vista of Cortland, formerly of Westwood Drive N.W. in Warren passed away on Saturday afternoon, January 20, 2018, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren. She was born October 5, 1922 in Westernport, Maryland the daughter of the late Albert J. and Lillian Goldsworthy Hunt. She had been a lifetime Trumbull county resident. Mary was a 1940 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She worked for 14 years at the Warren Trumbull County Public Library, both at the original library on High Street and at the current location, retiring in 1983. Mary was involved with the March of Dimes for 30 years and a volunteer with the Red Cross. She was a member of the Unity Church Centre in Liberty Township. She was a prolific fiber artist and loved weaving, spinning, traditional rug hooking and knitting. Once a month, in her home, Mary hosted an open meeting of her fellow fiber artists where they worked on projects and enjoyed fellowship and conversation. She was a member of the Youngstown Area Weavers and Spinners Guild, the Association of Traditional Rug Hookers and the Mentra Gwen Women's Welsh Club. Mary was loved by many and will be missed. Mary is survived by two daughters, Heather B. (Walter) Drugan of Sun City Center, Fla. and Molly Ferguson Schwab of Warren; one son, James S. "Jamie" Ferguson of Newton Falls; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Her husband of 62 years, Addison "Scotty" Ferguson, whom she married March 1, 1941 preceded her in death in 2003. One brother, Albert S. Hunt also preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held at noon Friday, January 26, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren with Pastor Mary Ann Bromley officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the noon service time. Cremation was held and burial will be at Pineview Memorial Park.
